Artist statement Paul Chang

Paul Chang grew up in the luscious tropical country of Surinam, South America, a small country near the Amazon Jungles. That is why it is of no surprise to see why nature and color are the most dominant aspects in his painting.

The love for the natural environment is evident in the consistent way he creates his images on canvas. His work always has been inspired by flora and fauna; it is there where he feels the most comfortable. At the end it does not matter what his topic is, it is how he executes it. And if his viewers get a nice warm feeling when they watch his paintings, he has accomplished his goal.
